Fundraising Tips

1- Share your fundraiser early and often.

Spread the word about your fundraiser through friends, family and social media as soon as possible. Let them know what the money will go towards and why it's important to you. The more personal this is, the more it will resonate and gain their support!

2- Promote the fundraiser as a way to shop for gifts.

Emphasize the unique personalized nature of Shutterfly products: photo books, keepsakes, home décor, kids and pets gear, stationary, gifts - all of these can be given to someone for a special occasion or milestone, from birthdays to anniversaries, new babies and holidays!

3- BUILD A NETWORK.

Enlist the help of your friends, family and community to spread the word. Give them the Storefront URL and flyers to pass out to their contacts and organizations. Never underestimate the power of paying it forward.
Tip:
Gather email addresses and create an email distribution list!

4- Submit your fundraiser to local media outlets.

Send an email inquiry about adding your fundraiser to their website, calendar of events or news spots. There's usually no need for a formal press release and you can quickly get in front of a wider audience, inspiring the local community to get behind your effort.

5- Plan an email campaign.

Most people will need to hear about your fundraiser a few times before donating, so we recommend you send three emails:
Fundraiser announcement.
Get readers excited about helping your organization and cause and explain how the Storefront will work. Let them know the date they can start shopping.
Invitation to shop.
When the Storefront is live, send an email inviting them to shop and remind them what they're helping to support.
Reminder/Last chance.
Create a sense of urgency with your potential donators that time is running out and you need their help to reach your fundraising goal. This is a good opportunity to let them know your fundraiser's status (how much you've raised so far and how much you have left to go).
